Updates on Book Country Improvement Projects

Posted by December 7th, 2015

We’ve been making progress on Book Country improvement projects.

As you likely already noticed, the discussion boards now include member avatars alongside posts. (Click through the image to the discussion board to see how it looks on the site.)

We also fixed an issue to make the linked name next your posts go directly to a member’s profile page rather than a link to their recent discussion board posts. (Click through the image to try it!)

We are loving seeing everyone’s author photo next to their comments about writing and publishing. So if you haven’t yet uploaded a photo to your profile, now is the time!

Another thing you might have noticed that we’ve made it even easier to get to your dashboard from the logged-in homepage.(Click through the image to your homepage.)

On your dashboard, you now have more links to the different areas of Book Country that you use: your homepage, your profile, your messages, your connections, your reports, and your forms. (Click through the image to go to your dashboard.)

In your dashboard, scroll down. On the left-hand side is the Tech Corner, with a link to update Adobe Flash to better enjoy the Genre Map, and links to download the browsers that work best with Book Country.

We are also excited to have links to our social media channels in the header at the top of the Book Country site. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, Tumblr, and YouTube so that you can stay in the loop and connect with your community elsewhere on the web.

Our footer has changed slightly, and now includes a link to PenguinRandomHouse.com.

We have a few more changes coming in the weeks ahead, including a more intuitive FAQ and top menu navigation. We will keep you posted on those developments!
